This design is the result of a collaboration with Jeanne De Marguerye and the Abbey of En Calcat, and a contemporary adaptation of Dom Robert’s work Plates Bandes into a panoramic décor, redrawn by hand by Jeanne De Marguerye.
Dom Robert (1907–1997), whose real name was Guy de Chaunac-Lanzac, was born in Nouvelle-Aquitaine. A Benedictine monk at the Abbey of En Calcat, he was one of the masters of contemporary tapestry. His artistic life was shaped by the contemplation of nature, by sketches and drawings, by the creation of cartoons, by the numbered translation of colors, and by the supervision of weavings in the Aubusson workshops.
